Licia Canton

Born in Cavarzere (Venezia), Licia Canton is a Montreal writer, literary critic and cultural agent. She is the editor of Accenti, the Canadian Magazine with an Italian Accent and five books on multicultural (Italian Canadian) writing: The Dynamics of Cultural Exchange (Cusmano 2002), Adjacencies: Canadian Minority Writing (with Beneventi & Moyes, Guernica 2004), Writing Beyond History (with De Santis & Fazio, Cusmano 2006), and forthcoming Rebus: Artists and Poets in Correspondence (with Carlevaris, BuschekBooks) and Antonio D'Alfonso: Essays on His Works (Guernica 2007). She holds a Ph.D. from Université de Montréal and has published (in English, Italian and French) articles, essays, interviews, short stories and poems. She is a member of Union des écrivains et écrivaines québecois (UNEQ), Association of Italian Canadian Writers (AICW), Quebec Writers' Federation (QWF), and Canadian Society for Italian Studies (CSIS).
